princessloki and I are officially engaged.
The wonderful event (the question) happened at the Polynesian Resort, in Disney. Neither of us had stayed there before, and we were heading over to do some shopping just to get away from Tampa for the weekend anyway. We had bought the rings about a month earlier, and her engagement ring had finally come in.
So, I decided, Disney is a fitting place to pop the question, since we both love it so much over there.
There was a small snag, however. I had intended to ask her maybe at the luau, or while watching fireworks that night, or maybe while riding in the front of the monorail. When I got the rings, I realized that the ring boxes were insanely large. As in "What the fuck do you have in your pocket" large. I knew I could not take the ring out of the box and just hold it in my pocket...I am notorious for losing things out of my pockets. So, once we got settled into the hotel room, I got on one knee and asked her to marry me.
Now, one might think that since we had already purchased the rings this would be a sure thing. And maybe it was. But I was still nervous. She let me off the hook pretty easily though - she said, "Yes."
We are getting married on the 19th anniversary of when we started dating in high school.
She told me when I asked her, "I've waited 19 years to hear you say that." And, when I think about it, I waited 19 years for the time to be right. And this feel very right.
I am in the process of moving in, slowly but surely. Her house already feels like home. We have some amazing plans together.
I can't wait.

19 years is a long time to wait...
But it's merely seconds on the geological clock of eternal love.Congratulations.
